Chester's Colin Ferrell didn't win the POTW award, but with efforts like this he's on track to win the defensive POTY award.
YBSPORTS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - (WEEK #1)
On Friday evening in Lansdale, Pa. LaSalle College’s super Freshman Quarterback Gavin Sidwar put on quite a show in leading his LaSalle Explorers to an extremely important opening season win after producing some very strong numbers against a perennial District One power in North Penn High School. We had a rep at that game who spoke very highly of Sidwar, but Chester’s Jalen Harris’s performance on Saturday afternoon against City Alum Central High School was in a class all it’s own. All Harris did was throw for over three hundred yards and five touchdowns in leading his Clippers to an eighty to zero win over an outmanned Central Lancer Football Team. So our player of the week goes to Jalen Harris of Chester.
Conversely, Pope John Paul's Boyd Skarbek proved to be an invaluable asset for his PJPII mates as the Panthers manhandled Arch Bishop Carroll rather easily at home.
Jalen and Boyd will be presented with a player of the week award which is an 11 x 16 Game Portrait of each.
YBSPORTS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - (WEEK #2)
On Saturday afternoon in Jenkintown, Pa. Jenkintown's all purpose player James Martin was a force to be reckoned with. Martin was everywhere on the field playing from both defense and offense. For his efforts, James has been named Co-Player of the week
Also on Saturday afternoon in Ardmore, Pa. Haverford School's Gavin Wright played mistake free football in leading his Fords to a well earned win over a super talented Bonner Prendergast squad. For their efforts, James and Gavin will be presented with a player of the week award which is an 11 x 16 Game Portrait of each.
YBSPORTS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - (WEEK #3)
On Friday night up in the Lehigh Valley, Nazareth's Sonny Sasso was on display. If you haven't seen him in action, try to do so this year. It is a pretty safe bet that if you miss him, you could probably catch him on the Big 10 channel next year.
On Saturday afternoon in Fort Washington, Pa. Germantown Academy's Tristan Machado lit up the Hill School defense with some pretty deft touch passes and displayed tremendous poise in the clutch when he had to. You could say he was the sole reason for guiding the Patriots to the winning score as his team won a very competitive game against the Hill School Rams. For their efforts, Sonny and Tristan will be the presented with a player of the week award which is an 11 x 16 Game Portrait of each.
YBSPORTS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - (WEEK #5)
What is quickly reverting back to one of the Lehigh Valley's best high school Football rivalries, Parkland and Whitehall met up on the turf just off McArthur Parkway in South Whitehall and the stars came out to shine. Whitehall's Nigel Linton and Parkland's Trey Tremba showed those in attendance why their teams can strike from just about anywhere on the field and at just about anytime. Together, the pair combined for well over three hundred yards of total offense with a blend of punishing runs and moves that left the crowd in awe. For their efforts, both Tremba and Linton will be the recipients of the players of the week award and will be presented with the player of the week award which is an 11 x 16 Game Portrait of each.
