The House That Kobe Built At Lower Merion High School Is Stunning …(RH)…… 2024
Tonight The Los Angeles Lakers are honoring one of their favorite sons when they unveil the statue of their all time great Kobe Bryant of Ardmore, Pennsylvania and Lower Merion High School. Bryant, who led his Lower Merion Aces to the PIAA State Championship is revered in the entire state of Pennsylvania but even more so in his beloved Ardmore. 'Mamba', as Bryant is affectionately called by some of his toughest NBA opponents, once joked that if a statue of himself was ever erected, he would hope it would be of him wearing the number 6 insteag of the number 24 because when he wore the '8' he could at least still grow hair on his head. One visit to the Aces gym and you will discover the love and respect the Lower Merion School District has for their late great NBA super star. A trophy case that commemorates Bryant's incredible career and achievements at the school as well as some incredible murals adorn the hallway leading into the gymnasium. Once inside, the feeling of something special had taken place here begins to stir in your spirit and one thing is certain, you will come away with the feeling that there is no other preparatory gymnasium in the country like it. This is what the multiple NBA All Star meant to this community. Below is an image of the inside of the Bryant sanctuary an hour and a half before tipoff time. If you're a lover of high school basketball nostalgia, make it a point to attend a game there and bask in the feeling of wonderment.

Upper Dublin's high flyin boys basketball team made the short trip up ‘Old Philadelphia Road’ to Wissahickon High School with the thoughts of having to face the gauntlet of three point shooters on the Wissahickon Trojans tough as nails at home ballers. And their hunches were spot on as the home court Trojans did just everything in their power to upset one of District One's most talented teams. For four complete quarters, the Cardinals were able to hold on to a razor thin lead over the Trojans keep the persistently boisterous student section under control and keep the determined Trojans from taking a commanding lead. In fact, Wissahickon was only able to grab a short lead two times thanks to some clutch three point bombs from deep in the corners.. But those leads were short lived as Upper Dublin quickly regained the lead on alternate trips after losing it and did what most championship caliber teams do, they answered back. The hot shooting Cardinals were bested by their counterparts from the three point line 6 to 4, but each one of the visiting team threes came at pivotal points in the contest. Upper Dublin’s Ryan Mulroy led all scores with 18 points and was helped out by team mate Kobe Bazemore’s nine points. Wissahickon got great contributions from Dom Vacchiano who pumped in 17 points while team mate Braden Ryan added 12 in a losing cause.

Methacton Takes Care Of Business Against Owen J. Roberts …(RH)…… 2024
METHACTON AREA WARRIORS -67……………………………EAO. J. ROBERTS WILDCATS - 42.…................………
Warriors Gymnasium ollegeville, Pa....................................................... .......D1- BOYS BASKETBALL...........................................................................................
The first meeting between Owen J. Roberts, and Methacton Area High Scholl Boys Basketball teams ended with a Warriors 12 point win inside the Wildcats home gymnasium. The second meeting however didn’t fare quite as well for the visiting Cats on Methacton’s home turf. Playing before a sparse crowd but an apparent rambunctious methacton student section, Owen J Roberts appeared listless and somewhat out of sorts. Using a seemingly ineffective box and one defense against a high scoring Methacton offense may have proved the undoing for Owen J. as the Warriors jumped out to n early lead which ended in a 26 to 1 advantage for Methacton Area. Looking at an eminent threat of seeing a running clock used against them, Roberts was unable to close the gap inside of 26 points at anytime during the remaining three quarters The ironic part of the scoreboard lied in the fact the end of the first quarter showed Methacton holding nearly the same cushion over the Wildcats when the contest ended. Sal Lemanello led the winners with 18 points followed by Mason Conrad with 10 and Anthony Daddio with 11 coming by way of three trys.
