NEEDING TO GAIN AT LEAST A SPLIT DURING THE SERIES, PORTLAND WAS LACKING BIG ENERGY

The Portland Sea Dogs desperately needed a win on Sunday evening in Reading against their Northeast Divisional foe in order to maintain their one and a half game lead over second place Somerset of New Jersey, but that didn’t happen. In fact, the Team from Down East Maine couldn’t even muster up enough of a punch to push even one run across the plate, as they were handed a drubbing by the Fightins’ by a score of 8-0 at Reading’s iconic First Energy Field.

Little League World Series Playback Games Begin Today At Ten O'Clock AM
Elimination Day and Saturday afternoon in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania in the middle of the month of August signals something special is about to happen. For some of the competing teams it means that their dream of reaching the pinnacle of the Little League World Series is over. yet for others, say as in a supportive parent, they can now reduce themselves to finding a good lozenge to heal their hoarse vocal cords. For others it's moving day, as in your quest to hoist the trophy is still alive! But for every other non participating parent and those who accompany them, they can all bathe in the luxury of showing off their enjoyment of sharing this great day with the ones who came to the game with them. For it can be a momentous occasion!

While other teams were spending their day off doing the things that most young people do, the Chinese Taipei Team was busy looking the part of winners! There's something to be said about over preparing, but if you can get into the mindset of looking like a winner, at some point that attitude is going to carry over into more wins and less losses. During elimination day on the hill in South Williamsport The Taipei and Japanese coaching staffs had their teams go through a workout that can only be viewed as we're getting ready to step to the championship game on championship weekend.
