Pennsylvania's Version of the State's Ice Hockey Championship
Cont'd from from page;
Fighting along the boards generally breakout when a player is driven hard into the sidewalls but there is much at stake in these games because of the limited number of teams that are allowed to participate. You have to earn your bones so to speak and pride is all about what these teams are about. The coaches know there are consequences when infractions are committed on the ice, but as in last night's game ending brawl the consequences can be much more severe and can often end in future game disqualifications.

Downingtown East had to survive some incredibly determined play from Cumberland Valley in this first round AA Flyers Cup Playoff. The game was marred by some controversy when two of CV’s apparent goals were waved off by the officials much to the disdain of Cumberland’s loyal followers.
